Greetings, Z-Rangers!!

Sound the alarms and alert the townsfolk, because much like our very own Sela Mathers (sorry, *spoiler alert*), Now & Zen is officially back from the dead!

Some of you out there might know me as Zenescope’s newest VIP coordinator, and believe me–it’s been a real trip these last few months getting to know y’all via email exchanges and convention visits and the like. But now, I’ll be drawing on my semi-illustrious (i.e., incredibly low-paying) background as a freelance journalist to add “blogger-in-chief” to my list of office responsibilities. So hopefully, the next time you’re perusing our webstore in search of the latest Zeneswag, you’ll venture down here to my neck of the digital woods for fresh insights into the daily goings-on at Zenescope HQ, creator interviews, assorted pop culture recommendations, and of course, reflections on the present state of the Grimm Universe and beyond.

First up, let’s talk about what’s on the docket for this month. Just two days ago, we kicked off our slate of October books with Grimm Fairy Tales #76, which brought most of our heroes back to Arcane Acre following the bittersweet conclusion of August’s jam-packed 75th issue. I won’t give away too much if you haven’t had the chance to dive in yet, but let’s just say the heartwarming reunion between Skye and Sela will have to wait as the estranged mother-and-daughter duo have very different battles to fight on their own over the next couple of issues. You also may have noticed the introduction of a brand-new villainess, who will have a much bigger role to play in the GFT saga throughout the rest of the year.

But that’s not all–we’re also releasing a new Robyn Hood adventure, the next chapter of Oz: Kingdom of the Lost, a prelude to our upcoming Wonderland: Child of Madness miniseries, and our annual Halloween special, which gathers the world’s most dedicated serial killer fans together in a haunted house for an evening of bloody mayhem they’ll never forget (that is, if they manage to survive the night…).

Speaking of haunted, it’s finally Spooky Season, and we have not one, but two new box sets that would make solid additions to your to-be-read pile in anticipation of this year’s Halloween festivities. The first set (funded by many of you lovely people via Kickstarter last summer!) collects three graphic novels: Devil’s Road, Satan’s Hollow, and Paradise Court. Meanwhile, our 2023 Horror Comic Book Box contains a mix of physical and digital comics along with a limited edition art print, figure pin, and a collectible cover with a print run of 250 or less. Each collection is graced with delightfully creepy artwork courtesy of Guillermo Fajardo. It’s no secret that we love us some horror ‘round these parts, and what better time of the year to catch up on our favorite scary movies? • Thanks for the look ahead at all the cool comics, Jake. As for Halloween movies, I’ll probably dive in and watch Nosferatu (I love both the original and the Werner Herzog remake from 1979) and at least one Vincent Price film, probably The Abominable Dr. Phibes, which is one of my favorites for the season. The Nightmare Before Christmas is definitely a classic!
